Welcome to my public diary! Here, I’ll share my experience as a millennial. I haven’t really pinned down exactly what I’ll write about, but as millennials I think we have a lot to say —- don’t you agree? 🙄 I mean.. our lives are anything but simple, filled with CHAOS, CHANGES and GROWTH that comes with it. We’re known for embracing chaos- we’ve seen it all – whether it’s adapting to rapid changes in technology, or navigating new job markets. Can you believe we had HUMAN COMPUTERS? before the actual computers?! They were usually women who were hired to perform complex calculations by hand. I hate math, so I can only imagine how exhausting that must’ve been. Thanks to new technology for making our lives easier, but it’s obviously changing the job market and some jobs we know today will be gone soon, with better alternatives. That’s life. •_•
Ok, back to the point: we’ve witnessed it all – what’s been harder for most millennials is finding work and life balance, whether it’s due to lack of jobs, or job insecurity, or cost of living, or student debts, or the rise of the hustle culture. We’ve glorified “being busy.” We’ve been called the “burnout generation” for a reason- but we’re also the most educated, culturally diverse group- that contributes to better understanding of differences and societal issues (or we at least try) along with a great awareness of mental health — something I’m particularly proud of. It’s no wonder our thoughts always feel scattered. I guess it happens when you’re constantly trying to make sense of the fast changing world, especially with a brain that’s always curious and questioning.
So, expect my blog to reflect the same millennial energy. I’ll write anything from personal reflections, to personal growth and development, human relationships and mental health to spirituality and anthropology and the occasional millennial struggles. As I write this I want to say that everything I write here is purely my own thoughts and reflection, I’m not a professional or an expert in any of the topics I write about. I’m simply writing about my own journey and experiences, along with some input from quick online researches etc. I’m currently living in Japan so expect to see some posts about my experience here, including the unique culture and tradition I’ve come to love.
In short I’ll be sharing all my thoughts, randomness and whatever pops into my mind.
I know this wasn’t really your typical “About me” blog but sometimes it’s hard to sum everything up in just one post- writing this specially made me realize introducing yourself genuinely can be pretty hard and can take time.
For now, I’ll use this space to let you know me bit by bit, as I share the journey.
Thanks for reading! I’m excited to share more of my millennial journey with you.
